Missy had a complete vet check, she needs some major dental which will start on her as soon as she returns back to the rescue next week.  She does have an old stiffel injury so she will be limited to a light rider (about 120 lbs plus a light saddle) and she can be ridden on trail or light arena work but has a hard time going down hill and should not be loped or galloped for long periods.

 

 

Although Missy is still putting on weight and waiting to be seen by the horsey dentist, she has been ridden by a 9 yr old bareback and she did very well.  It was just a short ride but it at least allowed us to know where to place her as far as training level.

 

Missy is an Arabian Mare.  She is said to be approximatly 8 yrs old but we feel she is around 17, we will have our equine dentist age her when her teeth are done.  She is flea bitten gray in color.  She stands 14.1hh and leads, ties, trailers, stands for the farrier, lounges and is very sweet and loves attention.  We think she is broke to ride but have not had time to evaluate her yet so she is listed on the "halter broke" page and will be adopted out as such untill we have time to see how she rides.  As you can see by the pic, she does accept a saddle and she stands very quietly while being tacked up.  She also accepted the bit well but the bridle we had was too large so we just worked her in a halter.
